What You Don’t Know About Money Can Hurt You
My parents taught me that you don’t talk about money, and definitely not about how much you owe. As a result, I never asked anyone for advice about how to handle my finances and I found myself hopelessly in debt by the time I was thirty. Even though I worked hard, the combination of car payments, a mortgage, and credit card debt overwhelmed me. I researched the problem and found a company which offered debt help. They educated me about interest and how money works, then helped me create a re-payment plan I could live with. In a few years I’ll have everything paid off and and now much smarter about money – which I have learned to talk to the right people about.
