How to Register a Boat With California DMV

Since California has miles of beach along the Pacific Ocean, as well as inland lakes and private lakes, people are going to own a boats.  Boats that longer than eight feet and powered by a sail and any boat that is motor driven, must registered through California DMV registration, unless they are documented through the US Coast Guard. When registering a boat, there must an application for ownership and boat number certification.  There must be away to show ownership with either an invoice or bill of sale. The address where the boat is located, must be on the application. Once the boat is registered and the fees are paid, registration numbers or hull identification numbers will be issued.  These numbers must be put on the boat so that they are displayed permanently.
